Electromagnetic clutches and brakes MWM
Electromagnetic clutches and brakes are used in applications in which mechanical on/off switching is done remotely and electronically. Torque transmission is usually executed either with single- or multidiscs or teeth profiles.
Electromagnetic clutches and brakes can operate in two ways. Posititive operation means that the control connects the transmission with electromagnet and the clutch engages when oil, air or voltage is supplied. Negative operation refers to spring-applied or permanent magnet -applied solution. The control disconnects the transmission and the clutch disengages when oil, air or voltage is supplied. The application determines which way of operation is more favorable.
