The modernisation of the main stage in oulu theatre

We modernised the stage technology of the main stage in Oulu theatre on summer 2018. The project involved updates to Visual Stage control system. Also control system components were renewed.

The earlier system started to come to its end in terms of operational reliability, fluency and work safety and that's why decision was made that the system will be renewed. SKS was chosen to the modernisation project after a competitive tendering.

- Cooperation in the project was very pleasant. It was nice to work with the people who were part of the project group. All promises were fulfilled as agreed and everything was executed on time. Because of that I had a good confidence in the project. I always received detailed reports about the progress. We used several months for this project, mostly summer, and I didn’t feel myself worried anytime, says Tuija Hyppönen, Managing Director, Oulu theatre.

Visual Stage control system in daily use

Visual Stage control system has been in use in Oulu theatre since 2004. SKS has developed the system together with Oulu theatre during the years. Visual Stage system is used for creating new floor shows, unpacking old ones and even for service work. Batten hoists are used for lifting and repairing the setup and decors if they are broken.

- It’s compact and clear, very easy to use. Even a child or a senior citizen would learn to use this within a week, says Eemeli Koret, Stage Operator from Oulu Theatre.
